Yellow Card Centre North West (YCCNW), formerly YCC Mersey, is based within the North West Medicines Information centre on the site of the old Liverpool infirmary. It is headed by Professor Munir Pirmohamed and is staffed by a pharmacist, an information scientist and an administrator.
Staff at the centre work locally on behalf of the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) to provide help and support to healthcare professionals and patients in Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside about Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs) and reporting ADRs via the Yellow Card Scheme.
Our aim is to increase awareness of ADRs and the YCS and to improve the number and quality of ADR reports in the YCCNW region.
Staff at the centre provide training throughout the region to healthcare professionals and students, and are willing to talk to patients as part of a conference or patient-group seminar if requested. To find out more go to the training section of the website or click here.
